Q: What vehicles are compatible? A: Any ROV/AUV running ArduSub. BlueROV2 is fully supported out-of-the-box.
Q: Do I need a DVL? A: No, but highly recommended for missions >30 minutes or poor visibility.
Q: Can AQUA Stack work without a camera? A: No. Visual SLAM requires camera input.
Q: What's the maximum operating depth? A: Software has no limit. Hardware must be depth-rated appropriately.
Performance¶
Q: How accurate is the localization? A: Typically 0.5-2% of distance traveled without DVL, <0.5% with DVL.
Q: What's the minimum visibility required? A: >1m for reliable SLAM. Consider adding lights or DVL for worse conditions.
Q: Can it work in currents? A: Yes, up to ~0.5 m/s. Stronger currents require DVL.
